To learn a language is to learn a new way of communicating with others.

My favourite subject at King’s is French. I am particularly drawn to the fluency, intricacies and flow of the language, knowing that there are little mistakes people can make. To learn a language is to learn a new way of communicating with others. King’s is very supportive during the language learning process, breaking down the language in a scientific way and extending our grammar knowledge from Year 7. We also gain an insight into what life is like in French speaking languages, exploring culture alongside the language. Students become accustomed to the language very quickly, and teachers teach the subtle differences in accents and pronunciation to personalise the lessons for each pupil.

Duke of Edinburgh expeditions allow individuals to take ownership of their own actions. Throughout the years of participating in the Duke of Edinburgh, you really develop your own character.

I really enjoy participating in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme that focuses on outdoor activities and leadership skills. To gain your Duke of Edinburgh award, you must complete two activities for three months and one task for six months. My chosen activity is volunteering because my passion is to help others. Duke of Edinburgh expeditions allow individuals to take ownership of their own actions. Throughout the years of participating in the Duke of Edinburgh, you really develop your own character and the skills essential to develop as a team player.

Being involved in the Student Parliament will benefit me greatly later in life as we are fully equipped to tackle difficult decisions and use our leadership skills to benefit those around us.

Our academic experience at King’s in enhanced through participation in the School Parliament. Being a member of parliament has allowed me to develop and utilise my leadership by leading the meetings and bringing key issues within the school to the forefront of discussions.  Members of the Student Parliament collectively use their problem solving skills to enrich the school experience for all our peers.

I believe that being the Prime Minister of the Student Parliament will benefit me greatly later in life as we are fully equipped to tackle difficult decisions and use our leadership skills to benefit those around us.
