I passed my 11 plus but left school at 16 and became an Apprentice Confectioner. The college course I was promised did not materialise so I became a Junior Clerk and attended college in the evenings and day release to study Pitman classic shorthand and typing. At 20 years old I secured employment in the Personnel and Industrial Relations Department of A. Monk and Company.
In my early 20’s I was a Brownie and Guider for several enjoyable years.
I was employed in the HR department of Greenalls for many years and started my CIPD qualifications but due to my being responsible for the HR database I decided to change to IT qualifications, so in my 40s and passed a HNC in Business I.T. and a HNC In Computing.
I have 3 sons and have always encouraged them. My youngest son became a county athlete and a county footballer. He appeared on TV in the English Schools final and also won medals in the national sportshall final. I have a keen interest in sport, having been in all school sports teams, and for one of my HNC’s I developed a junior football team management system. I also developed a way of analysing a school sports survey which I believe was used nationally. I am a Warrington Wolves Season Ticket holder.
After over 20 years of being employed within HR, at A. Monk, Greenalls, NWDA I eventually got a position at Woolston Community High School in 2006. I really enjoyed working at Woolston but due to its closure I transferred to Lymm High School. When the Data Manager position became available at King’s I couldn’t wait to return to the community where I felt I belonged. I am so proud to be part of King’s Leadership Academy and will use my skills to the best of my ability to assist staff by providing speedy and accurate data analysis to assist in rapid intervention.
