I began teaching in the year 2000. My career has been largely spent in challenging secondary schools in Bury and Manchester. Leadership roles have included Head of English, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher (both pastoral and academic). I completed the headship leadership qualification - the NPQH - in 2016. In September 2019, I moved to the Great Schools Trust. I am currently an associate senior leader in my role as Director of Closing the Gaps. Areas of interest include behaviour management, pastoral care of students, reading and vocabulary teaching, ensuring high aspirations amongst all students and facilitating access for all learners.
