Miss A Coll

Head of Spanish

My life journey has been shaped by curiosity, perseverance, and a lifelong passion for languages. From an early age, my aspiration and dedication to my studies opened doors: in Year 11, I earned a scholarship to study in Ireland, and in Year 13, another to study in London. These experiences deepened my respect for other cultures and reinforced my belief that languages truly open windows to the world. As a result, I graduated with a degree in English Studies from the University of Granada, Spain, and took every opportunity to gain international experience, including completing an Erasmus year at the University of Leicester.

Thanks to the inspiration of my teachers, I discovered my passion for teaching early on. With endeavour and commitment, I earned a Master’s in Education with Honoris distinction from the University of Cádiz and was offered a position as a Language Assistant in Cambridge by the British Council. For me, this was more than a career step; it marked the beginning of my professional identity.

Building my career outside my home country, Spain, has been a rewarding journey that encouraged me to adapt, aim high, and make the most of new opportunities. Through these experiences, I’ve grown in my personal and professional aspirations and built the self-awareness to take on challenges with confidence.

Looking back, I see that the ASPIRE values have always been a part of my journey. They continue to inspire me as I help my students at King’s discover new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities through language, and follow their own paths with passion and determination.
