I joined King’s Leadership Academy in 2022 and I am proud to lead the department as Head of History. My passion for the subject first developed through the inspiration of my own history teacher at high school, whose teaching sparked my curiosity about the past and its impact on the world today. This led me to go on to study History & Politics at the University of Liverpool, where I specialised in the history of 20th Century Europe, taking particular interest in postwar European politics.
Before completing my teacher training at Manchester Metropolitan University, I spent several years working to champion students with additional educational needs. That experience has shaped my drive in education: to remove barriers to learning and achievement so that every student can thrive in a supportive learning environment. At Kings, I hope to pass on my own enthusiasm for the subject of History, giving students a rich knowledge of the world and helping them to grow into thoughtful, intelligent citizens of the future.
