KS3 Enrichment Opportunities:

At King’s School, our enrichment program for Key Stage 3 students offers a diverse array of activities designed to ignite passions and interests, fostering personal growth along the way. Through our 7-week carousel system, students have the chance to explore various enrichments with their forms, including Journalism, Spirituality, Engineering, Financial Literacy, STEM, Theatre Skills, Gardening, and more. This approach ensures that every student can discover their interests and develop a broad range of skills as they rotate through different activities.

KS4 Enrichment Opportunities:

In Key Stage 4, King’s School tailors enrichments to evolve with students' interests and aspirations. Students have the opportunity to opt into their chosen activities, allowing them to focus and develop their preferred skills. Options include Volunteering, continued involvement in STEM activities, participation in various Sports teams, and opportunities to contribute to Production efforts. With our commitment to providing diverse opportunities for growth, students can tailor their extracurricular experiences to align with their individual passions and goals.

Cadet Force

All students at King’s will have the opportunity to apply for a place on the CCF which has a specialism in Air Power provided by the Royal Air Force. Every year, the cadet force expands with 24 new places, with all participants being able to enjoy regular flying & gliding opportunities at RAF Woodvale, going on camps, whilst taking part in all kinds of action, adventure and sports one full afternoon per week.

The aim of the Combined Cadet Force is to provide a framework through which young people develop the qualities of team work, self-reliance, resourcefulness, leadership and responsibility. It also aims to engender a sense of public service and provides opportunities to take part in military training together with outdoor activities.

Super Learning Afternoons

Our unique Super Learning Afternoons take place once every 7 weeks during Wednesday enrichment. This gives students the opportunity to further develop their character and leadership by taking part in activities linked to well-being, aspirational flight paths, personal development and cultural experiences. A variety of professionals visit the school to contribute and inspire our students. At the end of the year, Project Week provides students with the opportunity to take part in cultural visits to museums, theatres and universities.
