Mr K Rickards

Head of Year 8

I’m passionate about supporting and guiding students through their journey—both in and outside the classroom. In my pastoral role, I strive to create a space where students feel genuinely heard, valued, and empowered to explore who they are and what they’re capable of.

I’m currently training as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist with CASES, which allows me to combine my love for psychology and sport. I’ve always been fascinated by the mental side of performance and wellbeing, and I’m excited to bring that perspective into my work with students. Whether it’s helping someone overcome self-doubt, manage stress, or find motivation, I aim to support each student in a way that’s personal and meaningful.

Sport has played a huge role in my own life, and I believe it can teach us so much about resilience, teamwork, and personal growth. I love helping students tap into their own passions—especially in sport and performance—and showing them how these interests can lead to fulfilling futures.

At the heart of everything I do is a belief in the potential of young people. I’m here to walk alongside them, celebrate their progress, and help them turn challenges into opportunities.
