Miss O Salt

Teacher of Science

Teacher of Science, Lead of AI & Technology in Teaching, and Teacher of British Sign Language

I began my career studying Human Biology and Sports Science in London before returning to my hometown of Manchester to pursue teaching. After completing my Physics specialism course, I discovered my passion for bringing the sciences to life in the classroom—and I have never looked back.

Alongside my studies, I was a competitive rower and went on to captain England. Most often, I could be found in a single scull—there is something truly rewarding about knowing that it was you, and only you, who got that boat across the line.

I pride myself on my enthusiastic teaching style and firmly believe that every child can succeed if they are encouraged to understand that it’s okay to be wrong, but not okay not to try. Building resilience is, in my view, one of the greatest character traits we can nurture in our students.

As Lead of AI and Technology in Teaching, I am excited about exploring innovative ways to support learning and inspire curiosity. I also teach British Sign Language, an area I am passionate about as part of fostering inclusivity and communication for all learners.

Beyond the classroom, I am often found in Cornwall—surfing, walking, or even crabbing! I also enjoy supporting triathlon events and caring for my 70-year-old tortoise. At home, I relax by baking—cooking may be an art, but baking is a delicious science.
