Mrs E McIntyre

Head of Art

I believe Art is food for the soul. In a world where so many things seem black and white, Art can allow students to express themselves in ways that cannot be put into words.

From being a young age, I always had a passion for Art, Design and crafts. Following on from High School I studied a full-time vocational arts programme at Wigan School for the Arts and went on to study Graphic Arts and Illustration at Liverpool John Moore’s University, always with an ambition to work in education.

I have worked in various roles in education such as learning mentor and teaching scholar and briefly taught Art to adults with mental health conditions. The enjoyment I found in these roles led me to enrol on a PGCE course in Art Education at Edge Hill University.

I started to teach at King’s in 2013 and during my time here it has been a pleasure to help students develop mature, sophisticated projects and learn true endeavour when encountering new techniques and skills. At King’s we have a highly personalised programme of study that allows students to develop and master the skills that will allow them to be successful practitioners in today’s creative industries. I am extremely proud to be part of such a successful and thriving school, and part of an amazing team that puts the students centre of all we do.
