Assistant Principal/Lead Practitioner of English/Director of Innovation
After studying English Language and English Literature at A Level in Liverpool, I fell in love with the subject and therefore went on to study English Literature with Cultural History and gained a 2:1 BA Hons. Since then, I became a teacher in the school that I attended when I was a pupil and learned the profession alongside my own previous teachers.
In 2012, I met the Principal, Shane and founder Sir Iain who were about to open a brand new school and jumped at the chance to start an academy based on character education and strong values. I joined the school as Head of English and have been fortunate enough to watch the department flourish and grow with students achieving outstanding results in the first set of GCSEs.
I am now Vice Principal & Director of Teaching and Learning which means I coordinate staff development with the key mission of ensuring pupils attend exciting, valuable & challenging lessons that will help them achieve their full potential.
Teaching English Literature and Language at King’s is a pleasure and I am often impressed & in awe of pupils’ imaginations and ability to write and deconstruct rich classic texts in new and profound ways. I look forward to seeing more pupils progress through the years and see what endeavours they achieve in the future!
