Art is the most intense mode of individualism the world has known,’ Oscar Wilde.

Educating students about the Arts and giving them the skills to be creative, is an exciting and rewarding role that I feel privileged to be in. My personal creative journey began at a young age, always having a keen interest in art, craft and design, I knew that this was the path I wanted to pursue. I went on to study a number of creative A-Levels and won awards for both Art and Textiles, before graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Art in Three Dimensional Design. Inevitably, the next stage of my creative journey took me to Bangor University, where I completed my Secondary PGCE in Art and Design, so that I could share my passion and enthusiasm with the next generation of young creative talent.

Teaching artistic skills, independence and resilience to students results in creative practitioners who demonstrate mastery in their work. I believe it is important to encourage students to solve problems and to generate their own ideas for projects if they are to develop a love for the subject and potentially progress in to this growing industry. The strong value based curriculum at King’s helps students to build character and leadership qualities, enabling them to succeed and become well-rounded young people.

I believe that at King’s, students receive an exceptional education, as well as outstanding pastoral care, which sets them on their personal flight path to success. I feel honoured and proud to be part of an inspiring and committed team who work tirelessly to provide the very best care, support and education for students in our community.
